In an earlier blog post we described the exciting day when Malawi’s first cohort of Bachelor of Dental Surgery students graduated in the Great Hall of the University of Malawi in Zomba.
Subsequently, the Communications Team at KUHeS, Esther Masi and Serah Makondetsa, have created a documentary of the journey from initial discussions in 1992 about establishing a BDS programme in Malawi to the graduation of its first home-trained dentists on 30th April 2025.

Uplifting and astounding!! 👏👏👏 What a wonderful documentary that really does to justice to this amazing achievement in terms of the BDS journey. I can but congratulate the wonderful graduates, who I have the priviledge of meeting and knowing, and all the amazing people who made this happen. We are so very proud to be supporting ongoing cohorts of BDS students via scholarships given by the generosity of individuals and organisations in the UK. Esther and Serah, well done to you both on these fabulous U-Tuve videos. A joy to watch.
